I.A.S.C. Accreditation Criteria

The following are the criteria used by the I.A.S.C. in determining the status and term of accreditation for programs being presented by universities, colleges, secondary schools and assemblies:

  1. The degree to which presentation of curriculum by the school or assembly is based on the individual students interests
  2. The degree to which the presentation of curriculum by the school or assembly is based on the individual students learning style
  3. The degree to which the presentation of curriculum by the school or assembly is based on the individual students aptitudes
  4. The degree to which the presentation of curriculum by the school or assembly is based on the individual students skill levels
  5. The degree to which presentation of curriculum by the school or assembly is based on the individual students emotional preparedness
  6. The degree to which teams consisting of teacher and student join in to design appropriate methodology
  7. The degree to which curriculum is organized around a particular theme or themes
  8. The degree to which hands-on learning experience is encouraged
  9. The degree to which community involvement in learning is encouraged
  10. The degree to which Holland or other appropriate testing devices are encouraged to determine changing priorities from a student perspective throughout the academic year
  11. The degree to which administrative personnel are used as resource officers in support of the front line teachers and counselors (Reference: H. Dent The Roaring 2000s)
  12. The degree to which assembly of significant numbers of students for the purpose of instruction is minimized
  13. The degree to which time segments are negotiated between teachers and students
  14. The degree to which labels such as ADD and ADHD are minimized
  15. The degree to which methods of instruction and materials are determined by the school or assembly solely with respect to the needs of the individual student relative to the reasonable resource capabilities of the school or assembly
  16. The degree to which the relative effectiveness of teachers, counselors is determined based primarily on success in motivating individual students
  17. The degree to which the relative effectiveness of administrative resource personnel is determined based primarily on success in obtaining reasonable materials and accommodations for teachers, counselors and individual students
  18. The degree to which force is minimized in securing the presence of individual students
  19. The degree and length of availability of the school or assembly during a student's lifetime for the purpose of research
  20. The existence of a written agreement between the teacher and student regarding the expected behaviors of all parties
  21. The degree to which new opportunities for learning are generated by the school or assembly that clearly enhance the individual students educational experience, including apprenticeships, internships, and independent projects
